A Sneak Peek into Auli
Auli, perched at an altitude of 2,500 to 3,050 meters in the Chamoli district, is India's premier skiing destination. Surrounded by coniferous and oak forests, Auli offers panoramic views of the majestic Himalayan peaks including Nanda Devi (7,816m), Kamet, Mana Parvat, and Dunagiri. In winter (January-March), the slopes transform into a skier's paradise with pristine snow cover. During summer, the meadows bloom with wildflowers, offering excellent trekking opportunities. The 4-km long cable car (gondola) connecting Joshimath to Auli is one of the longest in Asia and provides breathtaking aerial views. Auli is also the base for treks to Gorson Bugyal, Kuari Pass, and Nanda Devi base camp.
